Navitus Bay and the Ofgem/National Grid VIP project

Friends of the Lake District and Power Without Pylons issued the following joint press release on Friday 18th September:

PR 271 Are Some National Parks More Equal Than Others

Navitus Bay wind farm – permission has been refused for this project. If this offshore project, planned at 15km from the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, has been refused, then similarly the NWCC onshore plans should be rejected.

£500m VIP project  – it is completely senseless for Ofgem to provide funding for National Grid to remove pylons in some National Parks, while proposing to build more of them in Lake District National Park.
